John 19:25-27. Happy Mother’s Day! Today we celebrate not just Mom but all of the women who made a positive impact on our lives. We also remember that Jesus had a mother named Mary, and that He modeled how we are to love our own mothers. Scripture points out 4 ways we are to love our mothers:

• We are to love our mothers verbally. Tell her you love her! While you are at it, tell your wife and children as well.
• She needs to be loved physically too. Give her a kiss on the cheek or a hug!
• Love her patiently. Ignore the actions that might otherwise bother you. They are trivial in comparison for all she has done for you.
• We need to honor her and recognize her many sacrifices for you.

2 Corinthians 8:1-3. Today we celebrate the fact that God has been faithful to Dunfee Missionary Church! After nearly 3 years of the Building To Serve campaign we reflect on what God has put into our hearts, minds, and souls. Enormous changes have occurred outside our church as well as inside, yet through it all God has never let us down as we seek to serve in His name!

Joshua 10:16-12:24. A continuation of the study of the book of Joshua. Today we cover the campaign of the Israelites against the Five (5) Kings. This particular campaign ends with the killing of the 5 Kings after being taken from the cave in which they were hiding. But does our spiritual battle ever cease? Can we ever let our guard down against Satan and his minions? The simple answer is “no” because we are in constant spiritual battle against the devil himself. Four main points of today’s sermon are listed below.

• The Christian life is about conflict.
• In our spiritual battle we must remember that Christ Jesus is the Victor!
• We have a spiritual home.
• Complete the conquest!

Today in our exploration of the book of Joshua, we see how big God is in chapter 10.  Pastor Dennis explores the difference of God being on our side and we being on God’s side.  The right perspective is for us to be on God’s side.  Pastor explains that if we are on God’s side there are three things we need to expect.  Come listen to what it is like to be on God’s side and see how big the God we serve is.

Joshua and the Israelites just came off of a mountain experience in Chapter 8.  The Gibeonites are have heard about the power of God and His working in the Israelites.  We see in Chapter 9 what happens when we depend on our own site rather than seeking the Lord’s council.  There are three themes pastor explores in chapter 9; Deception, Gullibility; and Integrity.

Over the last few weeks we have looking at how God worked in the lives of the Israelites; crossing the Jordan River and conquering Jericho.  Last week we learned how the ‘little’ sin of Achan affected the entire nation in the battle of Ai.  Today we unfold forgiveness and how it is received in the Kingdom of God.

Everything was going right for the Israelites.  They just conquered Jericho.  The go to take the small city of Ai and they lose.  We discover  that the small hidden sin Achan effected all the Israelites.  We discover that the ever small besetting sin effects us, our families, our communities, our church, and our relationship with God.  Listen and find out how and why we need to conquer sin in our lives.

Joshua 6:1-27. A military strategy that involves walking once around a city for 6 days straight, then circling it 7 times on the 7th day? Then giving a tremendous shout at the end of it? Is that really a practical strategy? Does that make any sense? Yet that is exactly what God told Joshua to do; and by faith Joshua did exactly as he was told. And you know what? It worked! God delivered Jericho into the Israelites hands.
