2 Timothy 1:7; Acts 4:23-21. Today’s sermon tells how to face your fears when sharing your faith. We must look beyond ourselves; God has given us a spirit able to overcome timidity and fear so that we can share our faith with confidence and courage. We need to stop worrying about offending people.

We can control whether a person is offended by the method we use to share our faith; but we cannot control whether they are offended by the truth. We do not need to be pastors or seminary graduates to be effective Evangelicals. Simply speak of Christ with honest concern and loving kindness, not with apprehension or fear.

Today we read in John 4 the story of Jesus speaking with a Samaritan woman beside a well. This interaction exemplifies a wonderful way to witness to a non-churched individual. Too often we cocoon ourselves away from the secular community rather than witnessing to them about the Salvation that comes from faith in Jesus Christ.

If you can’t name three (3) individuals who are unsaved with whom you are building a relationship for the purpose of witnessing, then this sermon is for you! Actually this sermon is for you even if you can name those three individuals.

Today we read in 1 Kings 17:1-6 about a man called Elijah who was called upon by God to deliver a message to the evil King Ahab. God used this experience along with a time of seclusion in the wilderness to mold Elijah into a true man of God. By learning to rely on God for everything Elijah developed a deep trust and understanding of God and His will. Later an experience with a widow and her son exemplified the type of man that Elijah had become thanks to God and the tasks that God called him to perform.
